In my grandparents kitchen, there was a little plaque that sat on a shelf. Every visit I would see it, but never really paid attention to what it was saying until one summer while I was living there.
A little back story... When I moved to Utah, during the summers I would go and live with my grandparents for most of the summer. Starting the summer of my 8th grade year to the summer of my senior year. My grandmother Carole Applegarth passed at the beginning of my junior year, the following summer leading up to my senior year was a hard summer. While I was visiting that summer I notice the words on this plaque. I laughed to myself and realized that I have always adjusted to their home being my home.
This little heirloom is one of my favorites! On this little plaque it says "So it's not Home Sweet Home. Adjust!" My Mother's cousin Pam made this little plaque for my Grandma in 1993. This plaque is as old as I am!
I was told that Pam was really good with wood working. She would make little nick knacks for my grandparents. I have a few of them in possession.
So take the advice from this little plaque, if its not home sweet home, adjust. Adjust and adapt to the changes in your life.
